about
introduction

BSC is a family-owned and operated business with more than 50 years of experience in the furniture and slipcover industry. Over the past four decades, BSC has built a solid reputation as an honest, reliable and hardworking company that is proud of the tailoring, quality and attention to detail that is put into each piece of furniture.
frame construction

All frames are constructed by hand in Los Angeles using kiln-dried Alder wood. No particle board or soft woods are used. Each frame is double dowelled, corner blocked, glued and stapled using industrial grade metal staples. Frame legs are screwed into corner block so they can be removed for ease of furniture installation. Quality 8-guage, no-sag, sinuous springs are hand applied to the front and back rails of the frame and then clamped together with wire to prevent the springs from shifting.
cushions

Standard cushions are a Featherloft fill, a mixture of 50% Cluster Fiber, 45% Duck Feather and 5% Duck Down. Featherloft fill is blown into individually stitched baffles to prevent shifting of the fill for all cushions. Seat cushions feature a zippered envelope that is fitted with a foam core. Back cushions are solid Featherloft. Regular and proper care extends the life of the cushions. Flipping and fluffing the cushions on a regular basis will help keep them looking and feeling like new.
fabrics

BSC offers more than 250 fabrics, of which more than 95% are machine washable. Fabrics that can be washed are pre-washed and hot dried prior to cutting, eliminating most shrinkage. Fabric may be purchased in one-yard increments.

Initial orders require a 50% deposit with the balance due prior to shipping. Visa, MasterCard, American Express and checks are accepted for payment.

Credit terms may be approved after a company review of a signed and completed BSC Credit Application. Terms will start as 50% deposit with the balance as Net 30. Late payment of balances will result in terms being rescinded and additional orders will not be shipped if outstanding invoices are pending.

Prices and sizes are subject to change without notice.
order requirements

Below are the forms that must be completed for each order:
  • An Order Confirmation and Credit Card Authorization Form will be faxed to you with an invoice. The invoice should be carefully reviewed for accuracy. If no changes are necessary, the Order Confirmation portion of this form should be signed and returned to BSC. If using a credit card for payment, the Credit Card Authorization portion of this form must be completed as well. Upon receipt of this completed form, BSC will consider your order final and will schedule it for production.

  • A Customer's Own Material (COM) Form must be completed and submitted to BSC if COM fabric is being used. Your order will be scheduled for production once the company has received your fabric. The COM form must be attached to your fabric to assure proper identification upon receipt.

cancellations or changes

All requests to cancel or change an order must be received in writing within 7 days of receipt of confirma tion. Once deposit is received, no cancellations or refunds will be given. No requests will be honored after the start of production.
All furniture ships freight collect via Trail Lines, American West, or Cal-Metro (California, Arizona and Nevada) and all charges associated are the sole responsibility of the customer.

Prior to shipping, all furniture is carefully inspected and thoroughly packaged in a heavy mill plastic bag with cardboard on top and bottom corners, then shrink wrapped. Each piece of furniture is blanket wrapped by hand in our warehouse and not unwrapped until the product arrives at the customer's location. Trail Lines, American West and Cal-Metro are blanket wrap freight carriers and all product is hand loaded and unloaded.

BSC is not responsible for damages to any product after it leaves our warehouse and is in possession of an independent shipping company. All products must be inspected upon arrival and claims should be handled between the shipping company and client.

All deliveries are commercial only. Trail Lines, American West and Cal-Metro are aware that not all businesses have loading docks, and are generally helpful when removing product from the truck and into the store. However, most drivers will only go as far as the front door, as they do not have insurance to go inside the account. Should there be a need for a residential delivery, drop shipment or an account that cannot receive a large truck, American West, Trail Lines and Cal-Metro can help find a receiving agent or moving company that can accommodate customers' needs.

If a customer has a specific trucking company that they would like to use, they must specify when the order is submitted. The customer must sign and return the Shipping Release Form and understand that they are responsible to complete a Bill of Lading and to schedule any necessary pickups. We recommend that customers open an account with Trail Lines, American West or Cal-Metro so that shipments do not get held up waiting for payment and that the driver does not arrive at the delivery expecting to be paid.
